Pray for Me

FriendsPeople often ask how they can pray for me while I’m away. My needs change moment to moment- I think the best I can ask for is that you pray through the Lord’s prayer on behalf of me (Matthew 6:9). It’s pretty complete and there’s bits in there we tend to shy away from or ignore, but are worth praying for (for instance I hardly ever hear people pray against temptation, but I’m sure it’s worth praying against).

Pay for Me

While I’m not soliciting donations, a few people have asked if they can give me their money- and the answer is yes. Here’s three ways:

There’s a few ways you can give. The fastest is Paypal, just click this donate button:

With PayPal you’ll be given the option to enter the amount you want to donate. PayPal payments are not tax-deductible. You’ll get an email receipt but it won’t be designated as non-profit.

You can also send checks via my parents – this option is also not tax deductible, treat is as a personal gift. Use the address below:

Ed Palma
c/o Theresa Palma
PO Box 300
Oregon House, CA 95962

The final option is to send money via Loma Rica Community Church. I account for money sent through the church as a non-profit donation. The church will issue a tax-deductible receipt upon request. Please write: for Ed Palma, Africa on the check and send to:

Loma Rica Community Church
11234 Loma Rica Rd
Marysville, CA 95901

Support Me Even More

Apparently “the list” was kind of popular last time so here it is again. If you have more suggestions leave them in the comments at the bottom of the page!

I really believe that one of the best ways to care for someone is to care about the things that they care about. With that said I think the primary way you can support me is by developing a lifestyle of servanthood to those around you. Give time to your family and your neighbors and be a friend to them. Serve even when it’s not profitable for you, even when it costs you something. Remember anyone who has been forgotten and invest the spirit of God in their life.

More to Do

  • Make sure to chill when some is late or when they make you late- laugh if you get left at the airport
  • Quit using Internet Explorer – if you have Windows, use Firefox instead.  I know it probably doesn’t make a difference to you but you’ll bless the sock off your local web developer.  Safari and Chrome are also great Internet Explorer replacements.
  • Use Gmail for your email.  This will bless you too.
  • Tip you waitress or waiter confusingly well especially if they mess up
  • If you find yourself in a hospital, be especially nice to your nurse
  • If you’re visiting someone in the hospital, bring something nice for their nurse (starbucks gift cards are cheap and easy and they have decent scones.  Not that I’d know)
  • Smile at people who sing in gibberish
  • Sing in gibberish
  • Pay off David Rice’s home loan.  If you don’t know him, pay off a loan for a local pastor or youth pastor.  If they don’t have loans maybe the secretary.  Only do this if you’re fantastically rich.
  • Trust God, really
  • Dance, especially if you “don’t/can’t dance.”  Ya gotta start somewhere.
  • Give cash or air miles to  people who want to travel
  • Travel
  • Write a letter to an old friend in another state
  • Fingerpaint!
  • Have kids day at your house, plan fun, enjoy the mess and make tea & coffee for the parents
  • Send me a funny joke (I’ll forward it to Pam)
  • I’d like to have a Canon HF11
  • … I’d want a new computer for editing, the 24″ model- it has much better color accuracy than the 20″ model. Bought it. I could use a new laptop though.
  • Support a child through Compassion International
  • Support any one of a number of clean water projects
  • No really, trust God
  • Send me to Bangladesh
  • Forget that there’s adults around when you play with kids
  • I’d like a road bike (the kind you pedal, a bicycle with skinny tires)
  • Take somebody old out to lunch…like at least once every coupla months.
  • A pair of nice monitors would be handy, hr824’s or krk V8’s (typically sold as singles) but I’d be pretty excited to have Rubicon R8a’s or M-Audio BX8a’s (typically sold as pairs) or any other studio monitors for that matter
  • You should ride bikes, or run or swim.  Or at least go to the park
  • Feed someone!
  • I’d like to go to a movie in Brazil.  Apparently everyone cheers for the characters they like an boos when something bad happens.  If you’re going to Brazil, call me
  • Do something crafty
  • Teach someone
